13amp Plug and Play Hot Tubs
13AMP Plug & Play hot tubs are a popular choice due the simple requirement of a standard domestic plug socket. A 13AMP hot tub is not just simple to set-up, but also extremely economical to run.
What is the difference between 13amp and 32amp hot tubs?
The main difference between 13 amp plug and play hot tubs and their 32 amp counterparts is that due to a limited power supply, 13 amp hot tubs generally have one dual speed pump and the power supply is then divided between that pump and the hot tub heater.
As our luxury 32 amp models have multiple pumps, a dedicated 32 amp supply is required to run all of these components at once.
A 32 amp supply is not a large supply by any means, the same as is used for a standard domestic cooker or shower installation. If a 13amp supply is provided the heater will automatically switch off when the pump is switched to high speed. The heater will not be affected when the pump is on low speed. The performace of the pump is not affected by a 13amp or 32amp supply. This is the case with all 13amp hot tubs, however if a 32amp supply is provided the heater and high speed pump can operate together.
A 13amp hot tub can easily be configured to run on a 32amp supply at any point in the future. There is no difference in the actual hot tub, the difference is only in the programming which is a simple task to reconfigure to 32amp supply.
